HOBOKEN, N.J. — Veterans confirmed help Thursday evening for group of Afghan troopers who helped U.S. forces following the aftermath of the 9/11 terror assaults.
American Legion Submit 107 in Hoboken hosted a “Ruck the River” occasion forward of Veterans Day.
“Ruck” is a navy time period for a protracted march, whereas carrying gear. On Thursday evening, a gaggle took half in a two-mile march beginning at Pier A, which is house to the 9/11 Memorial.
“These Afghans ask nothing of us. After which 20 years later, when the catastrophe struck and the Taliban took over the nation once more, we felt it mandatory to succeed in out to those males and attempt to help them, like they assisted us,” retired CIA officer David Tyson mentioned.
Funds raised will go in direction of the troopers and their households.
