Taiwan has contributed greater than NT$127.4 million (US$4 million) in humanitarian help, its consultant workplace within the US introduced on Tuesday (Oct. 2).
Alexander Tah-ray Yui, Taiwan’s consultant, highlighted this contribution through the tenth annual International Coalition assembly in Washington, D.C. He defined that the help, centered on northeast Syria, is aimed toward supporting stability within the Center East.
“This yr, Taiwan’s help centered on revitalizing civil society in northeast Syria, with initiatives to enhance public well being, improve high quality of life, and strengthen the capabilities of first responders,” the consultant workplace mentioned in a press assertion.
As a Coalition member and accountable international participant, Taiwan stays dedicated to supporting the Coalition’s mission and contributing to regional stabilization efforts, Yui emphasised.
The 87-member group has already pledged over US$200 million to handle terrorism and help displaced populations in Iraq and Syria, in response to the US State Division. Through the assembly, members endorsed elevating a further US$194 million for these efforts.
